Roger E. Speakman, of Circleville, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, November 12, 2023. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born August 22, 1941 in Circleville the son of the late Otis and Zelma (Estep) Speakman. He was also preceded in death by his wife Bernegene Speakman and siblings Julia Skaggs, Myrtle Ramsey, Olie Hiles, Dorothy Hill, Bill, Leo and Luther Speakman. Roger is survived by brother Larry (Nancy) Speakman; his children Roger R. Speakman, Cathy (Jim) Ackerman, Christopher Speakman and by bonus children Betsy (Brian) Imler, Hazel (Mike) Davis, Heather Osborne and Chris Hill; grandchildren Tisha (Ben) Badgley, Ray (Shannon) Speakman, Travis (Devon Montgomery) Ford, Angel and Christina McCoy, Zack Speakman, Ellen and Sarah Ackerman. Roger had a very special bond with his bonus grandchildren Mark, Brandon, Brianna, Katlyn, Stormy, AJ, Mason, Amelia, Dakota, Michael, Gunner, Gatlin, Mariah, Diva and James; great grandchildren Cory (Bri) Cline, Nolan (Spencer) Badgley, Pheonix McCoy, Tyler Speakman, Ayden and Aurora Montgomery-Ford, Annie Ackerman, Felicity and Alanis McCoy and by 6 bonus great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends. Roger served 6 years in the Army National Guard and retired from Buckeye Steel after 32 years. He attended New Beginnings FWB Church. He loved his tractor, mowing and spending time at the farm. He also loved sewing corn hole bags for family and friends. Strawberry milkshakes were his favorite! He was a lifelong wrestling fan and loved to tell jokes and tease his family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at New Beginnings FWB Church, 4239 State Route 316 West, Ashville with dinner to follow.
