Robert VanGundy

Robert VanGundy, 59, of Circleville passed away on April 27, 2022.  He was born on February 27, 1963 in Columbus to John and Esther (Hedges) Vangundy. Rob was a lifelong member of the Pickaway County Koon Hunters Club, an avid fisherman and he loved to hunt.  He enjoyed volunteering at the Adelphi Food Pantry and helping others.  He was a joker who picked on everyone.  He was the type who never met a stranger.  Rob was a loving husband to his wife Kim for the past 26 years.  He loved his kids but was most proud of all of his grandkids who he loved fiercely.  His greatest joy in life was spending time with each of his grandkids and spoiling them all.  Rob was also a diehard Cleveland Browns and OSU fan much to the displeasure of his daughter Mandy and son Jimmy.  Rob was the kind of guy who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.  This generosity did not stop even after his passing.  As his last act of kindness he was also an eye and tissue donor.  His family would like to encourage everyone to be a donor.  In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his step father Dick Giffin, special friend Tom Hunt and sister Geneva.  Robert is survived by his mother Esther (Ron) Farly, Kim (Giffin) VanGundy, children Mandy, Robby, Jimmy VanGundy, Heather Algoe, Bobbie Lenard, Lisa Drum, grandchildren Whyatt, Lily, Jackson, Bella, Carson, Emma, Laci, Christian, Autumn, Sarah, Gavin, Carly, Landon and Alexis, great grandchildren Alex, Obi, Maddie, siblings Roberta, Skeet (Pam) VanGundy, Randy (Tonya) VanGundy, Rick (Glenna) VanGundy and special friend Jackie Hunt.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellman Funeral Home in Rob’s name.  Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
