Philip J. Meves

Philip J. Meves, 70, of Ashville, died December 23, 2018 at Berger Hospital.  He was born on March 5, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late Donald and Mareann (Pfister) Meves.  He was an U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from Abbott Labs.  Philip was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Vincent De Paul Society, he was an Eagle Scout and an active member of OSU Alumni Association.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Collins) Meves; children, Diane (Paul Rothrock) Meves, Susan (John) Lottes, Alison (Josh) Laughbaum and Donald (Laura) Meves; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Donna (Rob) Buchman, Erik (Kris) Meves, Anne (Joe) Caplea, Anthony (Dianne) Meves, Teresa (Jim) Roerson, Greg (Julie) Meves, Michael (Sharon) Meves and Raef (Suze Ferrier) Meves.  Philip was a devoted husband, married 49 years.  He was a wonderful father, mentor and playful grandfather.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Cremation will follow.  Burial will be in Reber Hill Cemetery at a later date.  Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society.  Online condolences may be made at www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
