Glenn Gray Obituary

Glenn W. “Bill” Gray, 70, of Ashville passed away on December 7, 2018.  He was born on July 6, 1948 in Columbus to Clarence and Agnes (Muncie) Gray Sr.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Dan, Steve and Clarence W. Gray, Jr and by sisters Margie Hanley and Nancy Gray Olney Robbins.  Glenn is survived by sisters Patricia (Floyd) Hughey, Circleville, Kathy Neal, Circleville, Beverly (Rick) Cook, Chillicothe, Penny (Kevin) Clark, Circleville, Judy (Ron) Reed, Lockbourne and by 16 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and 4 great nephews.  Glenn was a 1966 graduate of Teays Valley High School, The Ohio State University, B.S. 1970, M.A. 1973, did graduate work at the University of Toledo, STNA Program Pickaway-Ross 2001, Pharmacy Technician Training Program Columbus State C.C. 2002.  He was a member of Pi Alpha XI and was a floriculture-horticulture honorary.   He was a biology teacher at Clyde High School 1973, retiring in 2001, was a Jennings Scholar 1976-77, Audubon Scholarship 1975, Clyde-Green Springs Board of Education Award of Appreciation 1987, Student Council Honorary Service Award 1991.  He was a former assistant athletic director, director of Clyde Schools Nature Center, band announcer, former advisor to student council, science club, pep club, “Flier Gram” School newsletter, member of Ohio State University Alumni Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, OEA-R, NEA-R.  He was a member of  St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Circleville, retired summer employee of Reber Hill Cemetery, former employee of Mt. Carmel West Medical Center, formerly employed as pharmacy technician for Kroger refill center, Groveport and former grounds maintenance at Lakes at Ashton Village.  Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Reber Hill Cemetery with Father Ted Machnik officiating.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Pickaway Manor Residence Fund, 391 Clark Drive, Circleville, Ohio 43113.
