Cecil Clark Hatfield

Cecil Hatfield, 87, of Circleville passed away on April 3, 2018.  He was born on January 12, 1931 in Circleville to Cecil and Gladys (Longerbone) Hatfield Sr.  Cecil was a graduate of Circleville High School.  After early years of heavy highway construction, Cecil became manager of Lyons Equipment Company.  Almost 30 years later he took over management of 23 South Truck Stop.  After retirement he became involved in the administration of Picktown Self Storage in Pickerington Ohio until full retirement in 2010.  He also was a Pickaway County Sheriff Deputy for 35 years.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wife of 68 years Ella (Herron) Hatfield, sisters Helen and Hazel and brother Jimmy Hatfield.  Cecil leaves behind daughters Lynn (Don) Kuhn and Sheryl (Bill) McGowan, grandchildren Krista (Marty) Garner, Sheri Kuhn, Jason (Jennifer) McGowan, Shawn (Darrell) Miller, Staci (Brian) Rigsby, Chelsea (Nate) Fries, Justin (Kathryn) McGowan, great grandchildren Jimmy DeRosa, Kyle and Reese Garner, Madison and Trey Miller, Ethan and Emma Fries, Darby and Jack McGowan, Avery McGowan, Tristen and River Rigsby.  The family wants to thank Heartland Hospice and the staff at Genesis in Circleville.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at noon at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with burial to follow in Hitler Ludwig Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 until the time of service.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.  Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
