Alma "Kay" (Rodgers) Congrove

On Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 11:01 p.m. Alma “Kay” Congrove passed from this life after an extended illness.  She was 67 years old.  Kay was born May 20, 1955 to the late Dorothy Mae (Barnhart) and Samuel Nathanael Rodgers.  For many years Kay worked as a housekeeper at Comfort Inn in Circleville, Ohio.  Many weekends were spent at various mud pits working, spectating or running the mud truck.  Kay married her husband of 49 years Gary Lloyd Congrove on June 29, 1973.  Gary survives along with their two children Christina (Roy Williams) Danner of Clarksburg, Ohio and Gary “Joe” Congrove of Londonderry, Ohio.  She is also survived by her step-grandson Jacob Williams, three granddaughters; Victoria (Zachary) Mahoney, Amber Danner and Brittney (Patrick Cochenour) Danner and one great granddaughter Annalyn Kay Mahoney, with another great granddaughter on the way.  Kay is also survived by siblings Ruth Sayre, Jane Ferguson, Nathan Rodgers, Edith “Rose” Clark, Leamon Rodgers, Dennis “Chopper” Hammil and Mary Mullins.  Siblings Billy, Clyde, Lloyd, and Samuel Rodgers preceded Kay in death.  Many other friends, inlaws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins survive to help mourn and remember Kay’s life.  Services are to be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville.  Calling hours are from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.  with funeral services and burial to follow in Green Summit Cemetery in Laurelville.   Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
