Timothy Scott Summers, age 78, went to be with the Lord on April 9th, 2026 at his home in Circleville, Ohio surrounded by his loved ones. He was born August 3, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Hoyle Summers and Katherine (Duvall) Summers. After the death of his parents, Tim grew up in Sunbright, Tennessee with his late Uncle Bill and Aunt Lula Summers. He graduated from Sunbright High School in 1965 where he played the saxophone in the dance band as well as played football. He joked that he was known as being the fastest boy in Morgan County on his track team. He later served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years. He met his wife Bonnie (Moody) Summers at Virginia Beach and they were married on October 11, 1970 at Kingston Presbyterian Church. They then lived in Dayton, Ohio and Beavercreek, Ohio where they welcomed the birth of their daughter, Jenice (Summers) Najuch. They soon after bought a farmhouse in Pickaway County. He retired from DuPont after 30 years of working alongside his friends. Tim loved the Lord and his church family at Circleville First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member, custodian and numerous other things. He was a man of integrity who loved his family and friends and spoke openly about his faith and love for Tennessee. He was an inspiration to many. Tim was very handy and always ready to help anyone, especially his grandchildren. He loved being outdoors on his front porch swing and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary and wife Lauranna Summers; nephew Billy Summers, his father and mother in law, Clyde and Edith Moody; brother in law Rick Moody; and sister in law Sondra Hurwood (Gilbert). He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Summers; daughter, Jenice Summers (Mark Najuch); grandchildren Brooke (Barnes) Laux, Brittany Allen (Tyler Allen), and Austin Najuch (Mackenzy); great-grandchildren Bella Allen, Audrey Laux, Randy Allen, and Gideon Harrell; brothers in law Maynard (Connie) Moody, Joe (Irma) Moody along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will sadly miss him. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Bing Cancer Center, Riverside Hospital for the care they so lovingly provided.
