Thomas L. Perkins, 79, of Circleville, OH, passed away May 24th at Berger Hospital. He was born on July 17, 1946, in Circleville, OH to Robert and Kathryn (Arledge) Perkins. Tom graduated from Circleville High School in 1964 and served in The United States Navy from 1965 -1967. He was employed by Scioto Coca-Cola from 1969-1996, and retired from the Pickaway County Maintenance Department in 2008. Tom was known for his life of service to his family, community, and church. As a member of Circleville First Baptist Church, he served in multiple roles, most notably a Deacon of 50 years. Tom was known and admired for his prayer ministry; truly modeling what it means to have a friend in Jesus. Tom loved harness horse races, cooking, a good pork chop, and gospel music. Rarely seen without a toothpick, shoes, and a hat, but never in shorts or sunbathing. He was a proud father and loving papa to his three grandchildren. Survived by: cherished wife of 56 years, Johnda (McCoskey) Perkins; children, David (Emily) Perkins, Katie (Mark) Nawrath; Grandchildren, Samantha Nawrath, Elleigh (Anthony) Lampron, and Nathan Perkins; siblings, Bill (Melinda) Perkins, Judy (Larry) Justice, Bobby (Ann) Perkins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Robert and Kathryn Perkins, brother Mike Perkins, parents- in-law Jim and Marvine McCoskey, and sister-in-law Caryl Thompson. Services will be held at Wellman Funeral Home, 1455 N Court St., Circleville, on Saturday, May 30th. Calling hours to begin at 12:30PM, funeral service at 2:30PM and burial immediately following at Forest Cemetery. Officiates include Pastor David Cavanaugh, Pastor David Perkins, and Pastor Anthony Lampron, Jr. In lieu of flowers, honor Tom by contributing to the Building Fund of Circleville First Baptist Church, 1540 North Court Circleville, OH 43113 or online at https://circlevillefirstbaptist.churchcenter.com/giving.
