Teddy Kempton

Ted Kempton, 83, of Laurelville passed away at the Pickering House on September 26, 2025. Born to Elsworth and Marian (Garrison) Kempton of Laurelville. Ted was a 1960 graduate of Laurelville High School. In 1963 Ted was drafted into the Army and served two years. In 1969 Ted began working at Dupont in Circleville, where he worked until his retirement in 1999. In 1973, Ted married Mary Ellen Carter and they remained married until Mary’s trip to Paradise in 2015. Ted had five children; Brian (Nadine) Kempton of West Union, Kevin (Dee) Kempton of Greenfield, Rodney (Dawn) Kempton of Frankfort, Rachel (Herb) Fitchpatrick of Chillicothe and Nicholas (Jennifer) Kempton of Laurelville. Ted was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother Larry. He is survived by his children, brother Mike (Linda) Kempton of Circleville, sister Linda Moss of Circleville and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Kingston on Wednesday October 1, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Fairhope Hospice and Palliative Care of Lancaster.
