Ruth Michael

Ruth J. (Carl) Michael, age 88 of Surprise, Arizona, formerly of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away September 12, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Michel and her daughter Crystal E. Metelski Anderson and is survived by her only son Jason. She was born September 18, 1936 to Clyde and Darleen Carl, the oldest of seven brothers (Gene, Harold, Rodger, Danny, Terry, Tim and Jeff) and one sister (Carolyn). Ruth and her husband of 61 years, came to Arizona in July of 1963 to work where she was a graduate of Mesa Community College with an AA degree in nursing. She worked at Mesa Lutheran Hospital and during her tenure obtained her Bachelor’s degree to become a registered nurse. She continued her work in nursing and retired from the Apache Junction Health Care Center. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crafts, and was an avid quilter. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Menke Funeral Home in Sun City, Arizona and Wellman Funeral Home, 1455 North Court Street, Circleville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please treat yourselves to a fried chicken dinner-just the way she would have wanted.
