Perry "Fig" Newton

Perry “Fig” Newton, 66, of Laurelville passed away on August 1, 2025. He was born on January 15, 1959 in Lancaster to Lyle and Dixie (Douglas) Newton.  He was a retired electrician and loved outdoors, fishing, boating, family, animals and his church Cornerstone Church in Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his parents. Fig is survived by brothers Michael (Kelly) Newton and Robert (Raquel) Newton, sister Shawnee (Hugo) Morales; niece Crystal (Tanner) Bomstad; nephew Anthony (Ferrin) Newton and their children Brysen, Brinlee and Brielle; nieces Alex Morales and Natalie Morales; nephew Jerry Tomak and children Collin, Bella and Nyliah; nephew Anthony Hartshorn (deceased) and his child Quila. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
