Peggy A. Sims was called home to be with the Lord and joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Rick Sims on May 17, 2026. She lived most of her 75 years with her family and friends in Circleville, Ohio. Peggy was born in Dayton Ohio, the daughter of the late Bobby and Mable Mayo. She was a devoted daughter- in- law to the late Nolan and Elizabeth (Betty) Sims. She is survived by her loving daughters, Stephanie Sims-Huffman (Jason and Giada DeCapio) and Andrea Sims-Cochrane (Marc Cochrane). She also leaves behind the lights of her life- her cherished granddaughters, Olivia Sims and Elena Huffman as well as a beloved brother, sister-in-law, and nephew- Larry, Patsy, and Ross Mayo. Peggy and Rick were blessed with many cherished friendships, but none greater than their dear friends, Gerry and Dave Hannahs.
Peggy started her career as a board-certified cosmetologist, then serving as the Secretary at Forest Cemetery for nearly 25 years. Her last chapter of work was raising her granddaughters through their school years. She was an avid gardener, with the greenest of thumbs and delighted the neighborhood with her beautiful yard of flowers. Another one of her hobbies was needlepoint. She made many intricate pictures for her family and friends. Peggy was skilled at any craft she attempted, there was really nothing she could not teach herself to do. Spending time outside in her garden with her dog, Abby, was one of her greatest joys.
Peggy was a truly beautiful soul- compassionate empathetic, loving, intelligent, witty and endlessly funny. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and cared for. Her smile could light up any room, and her warmth and kindness touched countless lives. She loved God deeply and carried her faith with grace throughout her life. While her family’s hearts are broken, they find peace in knowing that Peggy’s love, laughter, strength, and gentle spirit will be carried with them forever.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made in the family’s name to the Pickaway Senior Center, who lifted them through Rick’s illness and is an incredible resource for families facing dementia in the community.
