Paul Wendell Azbell age 86 passed away on June 28, 2026. He was born at Big Pine in Hocking County on January 12, 1940. His parents were Clyde and Blanche (Fetherolf) Azbell who moved to Florida in the early 1950’s. Both of them have passed. All of Paul’s siblings moved to Florida as well. Paul was the oldest of the 4 children. Paul was preceded by his first wife Carol Ann Bell in 1998, as well as his sister-in-law Kitty Azbell (Florida) and his step-grandson Matt Dysle (Florida) and his brother-in-law Lewis Trapp of South Bloomfield. Those who survive are his wife Jo Ann, Doris Jean Valentine (sister) lives in Port Richey Florida as well as Ben Azbell (brother). Danny (brother) Azbell lives in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Paul and Jo Ann (Trapp) were married in 1999 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Together they have 6 children. Paul Jo (Todd) Dysle of Wimauma, Florida, Melissa Ann (Chris) Rosales of Aiken, South Carolina, Randy Azbell of Circleville, Rex Allen (Emily) Reisinger of New Holland, Casey T. Reisinger o Amanda, and Robert Ray Reisinger of Williamsport. Brothers-in-law are Don (Beverly) Trapp and Joe Trapp (Sabrina Colburn) of Mt. Sterling and sister-in-law Mary Trapp. There are numerous step grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Paul graduated in 1958 from Pickaway High School. His first job was working at Massey Ferguson in Columbus. He started farming at a very young age. He was a self-employed farmer for over 65 years. He also worked at Container Corporation of America and Dupont of Circleville. He was a Deercreek Township Trustee. He attended the Five Points United Methodist Church. In 1975 he won the Outstanding Farmer Award. He was an avid antique tractor puller. He had several John Deer G’s that he pulled with. He and Jo Ann traveled several states in their tractor pulling adventures. He was a member of the Ohio Valley Antique Tractor Puller Association, the National Antique Tractor Pullers Association, The Mid-Ohio Antique Tractor Pullers Association and the Ohio State Antique Tractor Pullers Association. Some of his favorite memories were attending the kids sporting events in high school as well as college. He had 3 favorite sayings. They were “Now Don’t Get Excited”, “What Show Goes” and “Did You See That Clown?” Honorary pallbearers will be George Donohew, Todd Dysle and Christopher Rosales. Paul will be laid to rest in Springlawn Cemetery in Williamsport. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 116 Morris Road B, Circleville, 43113 or Five Points United Methodist Church in care of Carole Moore, 18285 Five Points Pike, Mt.
