Naoma Ruth (Preston) Jividen, often known as “Nay” went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 7, 2026, in the morning, surrounded by her family and so much love. Naoma was born on December 23, 1945, in Frankfort, Ohio, to Paul and Marjorie Preston. On April 4, 1970, she married the love of her life, Thomas E. Jividen, and together they shared 56 years of ministry, family and a life of love. Naoma was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of Colerain United Methodist Church. As a minister’s wife for more than 40 years, she faithfully stood beside Tom, encouraging others and living out her faith through kindness, patience and service. Naoma spent many years working for Circleville City Schools, where she was well known and fondly remembered by many students and staff. She enjoyed crafting, baking (especially everyone’s favorite chocolate chip cookies) and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Naoma found joy in the simple things-a house full of family, gardening, a good laugh and making a home where everyone felt loved. She was a patient, kind and loving mom who also had a sense of humor like no other, and she kept that spirit right up until her last days. Naoma was the best mom anyone could ever ask for, and her love, laughter and lessons will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Survived by husband Thomas E. Jividen; children Matt (Carrie) Jividen and Erin (Joe) Riley; grandchildren Abigail “Abby” (Tyler) Hemming, Luke (Alaziah) Jividen, Jacob “Jake” Jividen (fiancé Meghan Bookman) and Isaac Blankenship; great grandchildren Ira and Oliver Hemming and Oliver Jividen; siblings Marilyn Rittinger, Phyllis (Albert) Willis, Paulette Blakeman and Wanda Manson; brothers Paul (Debra Yoe) Preston, Mike (Teresa) Preston and Roger Preston; Jividen family: Jerry (Barb) Jividen and their children Amanda Jividen and Candice Carpenter and the late Joyce Crossin and her children T.J. Crossin and Tina Potts and by many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. Preceded in death by her parents Paul and Marjorie Preston; her sisters Rose Downs, Carol Speakman and Margaret Evangeline Dubois and other family members who have gone before her. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00. Graveside services will be in Hallsville Cemetery, Kingston following the service. Online condolences can be made at www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
