Martha Thomas

Martha Jane Thomas, 85, of Chillicothe, died January 15, 2008 at Logan Elm Health Care. She was born February 22, 1922 in Pickaway County, the daughter of George F. and Blanche R. (Buehler) Mavis. She was a 1940 graduate of Circleville High School. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carleton R. "Cotton" Thomas, Sr.; grandson, Tom J. Thomas, Jr. and 2 infant brothers. She is survived by her children, Rhea E. (James) Harber of Circleville, John F. (Priscilla) Thomas of FL, Carleton R. "Chip" (Gayle) Thomas, Jr. of Longbottom, OH, Tom J. (Shirley) Thomas of Chillicothe and Jan A. Thomas of Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren and 1 very special granddaughter, Cherri L. Williams; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Mary H. (Mavis) Perry of Circleville and special pal, Rocky. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday January 18, 2008 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ross or Pickaway County Humane Society.
