Mabel Swackhammer

Mabel Swackhammer, 86, of Circleville, Ohio concluded her life’s journey on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Mabel was born on May 25, 1940 to the late Mary Elizabeth Smallwood Bailey and Burnie Samuel Bailey. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents and her close grandmother Rosabelle Tatman Smallwood; her special aunts Catherine Smallwood and Ada Hopkins; and special cousin Roberta Gates Caudill; brothers Thomas Brown, Joseph Bailey and James Bailey; sisters Bernice Tolliver and Betty Ferguson; brother-in-law Paul Dye; special friend Anthony Bennett. Mabel is survived by her two daughters Vicki Martin and Jeanelle Swackhammer (Jeff Ferri) of Circleville; grandchildren Royce Rogols (Carrie), Jacinda Dickey (Kyle) and Andrea Martin and her good friend Wilma Huffer; sisters Nancy Reeves (Keith), Clarabelle Dye and brother John Bailey (Linda). She leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Mabel was a member of the Circleville High School Class of 1958-the 100th graduating class. She was employed at the Pickaway County Community Action for 37 years. She was an OSU Buckeye fan and enjoyed the basketball and football games. She loved to shop and dine at her favorite restaurants Chipotle and Bob Evans. A special thank you to Dr. Wong, the nurses and caregivers at Berger Hospital and Ohio Health Hospice. At her request a cremation has been observed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In her memory, donations can be made to P.I.C.C.A. Toys for Tots Program.
