Jon Yake

Jon Yake, 87, of Orient passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2026. He was born on November 22, 1938 in Cardington to Milton and Margaret Yake. Jon served in the U.S. Army and worked at The Ohio State University for over 40 years. He loved all things sports, especially the Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds. Jon loved softball, he was the head coach at Westfall High School from 1988-1995, and then later moved on to watching his granddaughters on the ball field. He is preceded in death by his parents. Jon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carol Yake; children Jeff Yake and Amy Kemp; grandchildren Bailey (Andy) Taylor and Mariah Kemp. Our family would like to thank Ohio Health Compassus and all of Jon’s caregivers for everything they did for him and our family during this difficult time. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with burial to follow in Pleasant Cemetery.
