Jay William Joslyn, 72, of Circleville, passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2026, after complications from his brief battle with lung cancer. Born on July 15, 1953, to Bill and Betty Joslyn, he graduated from Chillicothe High in 1971. On September 8, 1973, he married his wife, Debbie (Lutz) Joslyn. Jay worked as a Corrections Officer at Chillicothe Correctional Institute and retired after 30 years of service in 2012. He loved almost all sports, especially the Detroit Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, and the University of Michigan. He also had a passion for rock and roll, writing poems, and creating crossword puzzles. Jay is survived by his wife, Debbie; son, Andrew (Michelle); daughter, Beth (Matt) Kim; grandchildren, Shannon (Tyler) McClelland, Jalyn (Lee) Binkley, and Brady Kim; and his very special great-granddaughter, Joslyn Sue Binkley. He is also survived by his brother, Hal (Melissa) Joslyn; brother-in-law, Dean Uhl; and special cousin, Deborah (Jose) Hernandez, along with many other family members and friends. Visitation will be Monday, April 13, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Dave Sayre officiating. Interment will follow at Hitler Ludwig Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pickaway County Library. Online condolences may be made at www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
