James Chaffin

James L. Chaffin, 53, of Portsmouth, died December 2, 2009 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born October 27, 1956 in Columbus, the son of Jesse and Catherine (Chaffin) Chaffin. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Mary and nephew, Rick. He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Miller) Chaffin; children, Shyanne, Preston, Breanna, Catherine, Sierra and Aiden Chaffin; 2 brothers, Bill and Paul; 3 sisters, Janet Sexton, Mary (Danny) Phipps and Sue (Harmon Craft) Chaffin; mother-in-law, Naomi Miller; sister-in-law, Garnet Miller; nephews, Les (Brenda), J.D., Marvin, Mike (Gail) Harris, Carl (Pam) Humble and their daughter Raylynn and Douglas Humble; niece, Tabby Humble. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Saturday December 5, 2009 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Cremation will be observed.
