Gary Franklin Strous, age 73, of Laurelville, Ohio, received his eternal healing on October 13, 2025, at his home. Born July 5, 1952, in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of the late N. Franklin and Wilma (Flaningan) Strous.

A 1970 graduate of Logan Elm High School, Gary spent 30 years with E.I. DuPont, where he worked his way up to Quality Control Coordinator through dedication and integrity. His humility, work ethic, long-suffering patience, and kindness defined both his professional and personal life. Gary faithfully attended Heritage Nazarene Church for more than 50 years, where his steady presence reflected his deep and enduring faith in Christ. He loved Jesus, his family, Farmall tractors, and the outdoors. Though he lived with Parkinson’s disease for 23 years, Gary chose to focus on what he could do rather than what he couldn’t. He leaned on his faith and chose gratitude for his blessings in the midst of his suffering. His quiet strength and humble spirit served as an example to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents: Herbert and Zola (Pontious) Flaningan and Fred and Carroll Strous (Reid) as well as his sister-in-law, Jayne (Davy) Strous. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Cherry (White) Strous; his son, Stacy Strous; his daughter, Heather (Josh) Barkley; and his beloved grandchildren, Jordan, Milo, Liora, and Lylah. He is also survived by his brothers, Stephen (Joyce Oriti Anderson) Strous and Tracy (Julie) Strous; his sister, Kathy (John) Creech; and many nieces and nephews who will carry with them his loving ways and servant’s heart. The family is deeply thankful for the loving care provided by Heartland Hospice, whose compassion and gentle presence reflected Christ’s love in Gary’s final days. Service DetailsVisitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Heritage Nazarene Church, 2264 Walnut Creek Pike, Circleville, Ohio.
