Eileen M. Goldsberry, 87, of Circleville, after a 2 month illness, she passed away at her home with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a strong woman who fought many health obstacles the past 2 years. She was born on June 30, 1938 in Ipswich, England, the daughter of James Frederick and Edith (Mattin) Orvis. She was preceded by in death by her parents; 1st husband, Walter Goldsberry and 2nd Bill Mayhew; siblings, Stanley Orvis, Florence Love, Edward “Ted” Orvis and Dorothy “Dot” Frost. She is survived by her children, Deborah (Matt) Thomas and Thomas “Cash” (Karen) Goldsberry; grandchildren, Dustin (Chelsey) Thomas, Jonathan (Heather) Thomas, Megan (Eli Moore) Thomas and Levi Goldsberry; great grandchildren, Ahmiah, Caiden, Cole and Liam Thomas;brother Brian "Bunt" (Rosemary) Orvis of Kent, England and brother-in-law Harry (Connie) Goldsberry of Chillicothe. She loved, loved, loved her grandchildren. They were the true light in her life. In 1970 she became a naturalized proud American citizen. At the same time she kept her British heritage close to her heart. As a young woman, she worked at the Coop, a butchers shop, as a movie usherette and JC Penney, where she was a dedicated and loyal employee, her family was not permitted to step foot in Sears! She leaves behind special childhood friends, Mary Baltzer of Ipswich, England and June Underhill of Missouri, also many nieces and nephews in England and the U.S. Eileen enjoyed spending time with family, especially grandchildren, playing euchre, bingo, games shows, the casino, thrift stores, a good English Sunday dinner and a good hot cup of tea. She will be dearly missed. Thanks to Berger Hospital, Logan Elm Health Care and Heartland Hospice. Also special thanks to the Freeland Family including Jimmy, Dawn, Kelvin, Kayleigh, Kayla and Lucy of Ipswich, who loved and cared for Eileen before her return in 2022 to the U.S. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Saturday March 14, 2026 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Pickaway Senior Center Meals on Wheels or Heartland Hospice.
