Clinton Jay Ward Sr., 79, of New Holland passed away on March 26, 2026. He was born on November 10, 1946 in Louisa, KY to Cecil and Clover (Dixon) Ward. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Jimmy and Paul Ward, sister Judy Roberts and mother and father-in-law Norman and Marilyn Weethee. He is survived by his wife Patricia “Patti” (Weethee) Ward who loved Jay more than life itself. Jay loved his wife, Patti, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jay is also survived by his children Krista (Nathan) Barberry, Christopher (Samantha) Overly, Jason (Melissa) Overly, Dawnaka (Kevin) Meyer, Clinton Jay Ward Jr. and grandchildren Allison, Joey, Whitney, Savannah, Layla, Skyler, Oakleigh, McKenzie (Blake) Litteral, Andrew Overly, Dylan, Newton and Mason, Nathan, Isaac, Match, Collen, Brandon, Kylah and Hayden; great grandchildren June, Lennon, Halston, Parker, Cohen and Kasen; brother Kenny (Patty) Ward, Johnny Ward; sister Gwen Burgoon; sister and brother-in-law Terri and Dave Tuggle and by numerous nieces and nephews. Jay had a great love for horses. Jay and Patti had numerous horses throughout their 30 years of marriage. They rode in Hocking Hills and Tar Hollow which were their favorite places to ride. Jay also loved to travel. He and Patti took their camper out west for a month 3 times and went wherever the wind blew them. They also spent one month traveling in Main and Vermont. Jay loved his job at Teays Valley and the people he worked with. They were very kind. A special thanks goes to Brenda Wolford for all of her help. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 12-1 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with a service at 1. Cremation was observed.
