Chuck Zimmerman, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and proud Vietnam Veteran, ascended to be with the Lord on April 5, 2025, at the age of 74. His passing marks the end of a courageous journey, yet his legacy of love and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. and Jennie B. (Smallwood) Zimmerman, his sister, Bobbie Caudill, and his cherished Aunt Kate (Catherine Smallwood). He is survived by his beloved wife and the love of his life, Chris Zimmerman; his devoted children, Jennie Zimmerman, Kelli Zimmerman, and Casie (Ben) Thomas; and his adored grandchildren, Leo, Rylo, Declan, and JoJo. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews along with several grand nieces and nephews. A proud veteran of the United States Army First Cavalry Division, Chuck held deep pride in his service to his country, especially his decision to volunteer for combat duty in Vietnam. His bravery and commitment were defining aspects of his character. However, Chuck’s greatest joys in life blossomed within the embrace of his family. To Chris, he was a steadfast partner and the center of her world. To Jennie, Kelli, and Casie, he was so much more than just a father. He was their provider, their protector, their coach on the sidelines, and the unwavering leader of their family. Chuck worked tirelessly to ensure his daughters had every opportunity and need met, offering constant encouragement and unwavering support at every ball game and life event. His role as "Grandpa" brought him immense happiness. He cherished every moment spent singing to his grandchildren and holding them close, creating precious memories that will be treasured for generations. Since 2014, Chuck faced a challenging battle with cancer with remarkable strength and resilience. On April 5th, he finally finished his race, not in defeat, but in victory, as he entered eternal life with Jesus Christ, now free from earthly suffering.
