Charles Holbrook, age 95, passed away peacefully March 2 at Pickaway Manor, Circleville, Ohio. Charles was born January 5, 1931, in Ross County, Ohio, and graduated from Stoutsville High School in 1949. He proudly served in the United States Army, Company D, 223rd Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division, in Korea, where he received the Combat Infantryman Badge. Charles always was ready to discuss local and world events, which he closely followed. He enjoyed Bible study and opportunities to sing hymns. In addition to Verna, Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Cora Holbrook, and sisters Mabel LaRue and Lorna DeLong and brother William Holbrook and their spouses as well as niece Kathleen McGrath. He is survived by nieces Vicki (Richard) Swetnam, Becky (Clifton) Webb, Candace (Greg) Walsh and Kaye E. (Doug) Maynard as well as nephews Ralph (Becky) DeLong, Herbert McGrath, Mark (Amy) LaRue, Dean (Wendy) LaRue and Wayne (Jennifer) LaRue.
