Bonnie Hanlin

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bonnie (Thurston) Hanlin on May 22, 2025. She passed peacefully at home at the age of 91 years old. Born in Laurelville, Ohio to the late Robert and Leila (Gumm) Thurston. She was a longtime resident of Ganado, Texas. A primitive Baptist, she worked as a caregiver for many years. She enjoyed family, cooking and life. Bonnie (Thurston) Hanlin was preceded in death by 5 sisters, 3 brothers, daughter Bonnie Lou Bevins, son Thomas Patrick Mahoney and 2 granddaughters. Bonnie is survived by children Regina Johnson, Daniel Mahoney, Teresa King, Anna Owen and Robert Bevins; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren; sister Lyndol Brown and brother Ronald Thurston and by many nephews and nieces. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 11-1 at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with service beginning at 1. Graveside will follow in Zion Cemetery.
