BETTY JANE DAVIS, 86, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026 at Copper Knoll Health and Rehabilitation in Washington Courthouse, Ohio. She was born on November 25, 1939, in Pike County, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Laura Fletcher and one of fourteen children.
Betty lived her life with a gentle spirit and a heart rooted deeply in faith. She never cared for quiet moments, often filling her home and garden with the hymns she loved, singing as she tended to her flowers with the same care, she gave to those around her. She enjoyed sewing, creating things that carried her warmth and love, and she was gentle and kind, loving nothing more than visits with her family and friends. Her life was a reflection of grace, devotion, and the simple joys God placed in her path.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Clyde Davis; two children, Glenn (Loveda) Davis of Wilmington, Ohio, and the late Brian (Marney) Davis of Grove City, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jenifer (Jack) Young, Cody (Jaqueline) Davis, Hannah (Nate) High, and Nicholas (Mallory) Davis; and five great‑grandchildren, Addalyn Young, Jack Young, Amelia Davis, Ruthie High, and Henry High.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Ann Finley of Prichard, West Virginia, and Gladys (Garland) Moore of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Jimmy (Sharon) Fletcher of Lavalette, West Virginia, and Joe (Gayla) Fletcher of Ashland, Kentucky; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Wellman Funeral Home Inc. Pastor Michael Bostic of Chattaroy Church of God in Williamson, West Virginia, will officiate. Burial will follow at Fernwood Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio, weather permitting. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on the day of the service.
