Obituary

Today, I lost my Uncle Jerry. He was my hero long before I ever put on an Army uniform. When he came home from Vietnam, I looked up to him and knew that someday I wanted to follow in his footsteps. He inspired me in ways he probably never fully understood. Uncle Jerry was a simple man who never needed much. He touched our hearts every single day just by being himself. His friends called him “Lucky.” Maybe he was….but I know how lucky I was to have him as my uncle, my hero, and an example of the kind of person I wanted to become. He was easygoing with a touch of humor….Thank you, Uncle Jerry, for everything you gave to our family, especially for your sister, (my mother), and for the path you unknowingly helped put me on…You will forever be in my heart. Rest easy, Uncle Jerry…Rhonda Harrison.
