Barbara Sue Ray, age 81, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on May 5, 1944, Barbara lived a life devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering love shaped generations, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Colin K. Ray; her parents, Jennings and Sue Browning; and her siblings, Judith, Wayne, Charles, Jay, Cebron, Anita, Harold, and Douglas.
She is survived by her children, Colin Kelly (Jodi Meade) and Tina (Jon) Powers; her siblings, Maryann, Bertha, Terry, Bob, and Elvie; her cherished grandchildren, Kate Mitchell; Shantae (Joshua) Bivens; Ashley (Shane) Bobbitt; Jon Luke Powers; and Zachary (Emily) Powers. She also leaves behind her treasured great-grandchildren, Makenna, Addy, Olivia, Ian, Sophi, Karson, Koleton, Zoey, Levi, Owen, Simon, and Joshua, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Barbara’s legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and the family she held so close to her heart. Though she will be profoundly missed, her memory will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of those she leaves behind.
A family graveside will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at Jackson Township Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026 at AmVets in Circleville.
