Amy Louise Gilmer, 65, of Ashville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 26th, 2026.
Born October 28th, 1960 in Mentor, Ohio to Evelyn and James Zealor, Amy grew up with a love of dance and being a majorette. Amy graduated from Riverside High School in 1978 and Lakeland Community College in 1982 with a degree in nursing. She furthered her nursing education at the University of the State of New York.
Throughout her life, she helped others in various nursing roles. From her days in the intensive care unit at Lake Hospital Systems, to the Perry Nuclear Powerplant, and her final penultimate career move as a business owner and nurse case manager at Resolutions Case Management.
From spending time with her grandchildren, hosting pool parties with her Pilates gals, vacations in Florida and beyond, to simple pleasures at home like baking a phenomenal apple crisp, Amy lived a full life of love and laughter.
Amy leaves behind a loving family. Married to Steve Gilmer in 2004, together they raised their sons Tyler and Connor. Tyler and Amy’s daughter-in-law Brittany are raising Amy’s wonderful grandchildren, Hunter, Cooper, and Isla. Amy has two dogs, Bella and Beau. She is preceded in death by her father.
