Alvin C. York

Alvin C. York, 87 of Circleville, passed away on January 28, 2025 in Berger Hospital. He was born on September 16, 1937 in Little Plains, MO, the son of Austin & Frances (Kellick) York. He serviced in the U.S. Air Force. Alvin worked at various jobs but loved his work as an owner & agent of Al Yorks Insurance Agency for many years until retiring in January 2004. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, visited all over the U.S. along with many countries. He married Martha Jane Lowery on October 9, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Martha on April 8, 2020. He is survived by his daughter, Sheryl (Michael) Petty; son, A. Douglass “Doug” York; grandchildren Chad (Jennifer) Lindsey, Matthew (Kendra) Lindsey and Nicole Lindsey (David Stanton) and great grandchildren, Kevin, Liam and Carsen. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday February 3, 2025 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Rev. Dr. Nancy Jo Dederer officiating. Burial will be in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery.
