Marcella (Rutter) Puckett

Marcella Marie Puckett, born September 27, 1926, to Leonard and Gladys (Gulick) Rutter, died Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Williamsport, Ohio, at the home of granddaughter Vanessa Coleman and grandchildren Thomas, Kaesey, and Robert Didszuhn.  Marcella loved the visits form her children and grandchildren, a newborn great-grandson, and long-time neighbors.  Before taking a turn for the worse, she enjoyed a meal of potato soup, and a few hours of watching Cincinnati Reds baseball, which she loved all her life.  Her final words were “I Love You.”  Marcella worked at Circle Plastics for several years, and at Columbus Industries until retirement.  She loved working and missed it every day.  She was well known for her speed and efficiency in getting the job done.  Outside of work, she enjoyed her family, making the best fried chicken and homemade noodles, and playing baseball, which she did as a teen at Circleville High School.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Elenore Jean Rutter and Rosella Congrove, her husband, Wilson “Roy” Puckett, daughters Zona Coleman and Vicki Ackley, and great granddaughters Jennifer Coleman and Stephanie Tackett.  She is survived by her children Gladys Taylor, of Aurora, Colorado; Wilson Puckett (June) of Williamsport; Terry (Lloyd) Moss of Frankfort and Mike Puckett of Williamsport.  She had 19 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with son Pastor Mike Puckett officiating with burial to follow in Williamsport Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.   Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
