John Skidmore Obituary

John Robert Skidmore III passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 surrounded by his family.  He was the son of Rob and Judy Skidmore, born on November 17, 1980.  He graduated from Circleville High School in 1999 and Ohio Northern University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.  Throughout high school, John was active in band, CHS swim team, Tiger Tracks school newspaper, helping with AV and technology, Boy Scouts, 4-H, church choir and lighting and sound for school and RTP community theater.  John was an Eagle Scout in Troop #52.  At Ohio Northern, he was a member of band; the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), gaming society, and he worked sound and lighting as a master electrician for the theater department.  He was a member of Community United Methodist Church and volunteered computer work for the Pickaway County Genealogy Society.  Doing the job he loved, John was employed by TS Tech Americas as a Network Administrator.  His greatest joys were spending time with his wife, children and family and generously giving help to those in need.  John loved the beach, camping, computers, the Columbus Blue Jackets, gaming, history, trains, reading, taking things apart and putting them back together and woodworking with one of his favorite people, his grandfather Paul Schein who preceded him in death.  In 2006, John married the love of his life, Katie Folsom.  He is survived by his wife of 12 years, his daughter, Lillian, and son, Jackson.  Also surviving are his parents, Rob and Judy Skidmore; sister Kelly (Duce) Black; niece Ruby Black; grandmother Mary Alice Schein: numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and best friends Joe Maiolo and Craig Thomas.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Pastor Tad Grover officiating with burial to follow in Springlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Circleville City School Foundation, 388 Clark Drive, Circleville (designated for computer education) or to the Pickaway County 4-H Endowment Fund (checks payable to the Ohio State University, indicate in memo line: Pickaway County 4-H Fund #605794 and mailed to OSU Extension Pickaway County, PO Box 9, Circleville OH) or to the Community United Methodist Church (designated for lighting and sound) 120 North Pickaway Street, Circleville, Ohio 43113.  Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
