Dorothy (Hoover) Thompson

Dorothy M.Thompson, 96, formerly of Circleville passed away on April 16, 2018 in Tennessee.  She was born on October 22, 1921 in Champaign County to Lawrence and Ethel (LeFever) Hoover.  She graduated in 1939 from Jackson Twp. H.S., retired in 1986 after 33 years with Circleville General Electric Lamp Plant, and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years James D. Thompson, one grandson, one great grandson and brother Harold Hoover.  She is survived by her children Joyce (Larry) Knecht  of Lakeland, FL, Linda (Greg) Hingson of Lakeland, FL, Brenda (Milan) Simpson of Mount Juliet, TN and Timothy Thompson (Ron Petiya) of Lakeland, FL, 7 grandchildren,  15 great grandchildren,  2 great, great grandchildren, brothers Don and Jonas Hoover and sisters Martha Ensign and Helen Swackhammer.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with burial in Jackson Township.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-4 p.m.  Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
