Dennis Blecha

Dennis L. Blecha, 81, of Circleville, died unexpectedly November 10, 2018.  He was born May 4, 1937 in Rulo, Nebraska to Leonard and Mildred (Jun) Blecha.  He is survived by his wife, Sharyn (Watson) Blecha; son Bradford J. (Bruce Reedy) Blecha; daughter Heather Blecha (William) Horvath; grandchildren Austin and Samantha; brother David (Karen) Blecha; sister Michelle (Richard) Baie; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him.  Dennis was a proud graduate of the University of Nebraska where he distinguished himself in the Air Force ROTC program.  He went on to serve in the United States Air Force (1960-63) and spent his professional career at Dupont as a Chemical Engineer.  Dennis thrived in his chosen profession and considered it not just a job but a passion.  An Eagle Scout himself, Dennis impacted hundreds of young men through his leadership with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 52 for the past 55 years.  He was a member of Community United Methodist Church where he was the Endowment Fund Investment Officer for many years.  He enjoyed his contribution to the church Finance Committee and Pumpkin Show dishwashing crew.  Active in his community, he also taught adult swimming lessons for the Red Cross for many years and for the past decade thoroughly enjoyed building ramps as part of Circle of Caring.  Although raised in the small, rural town of Humboldt, NE, Dennis spent his life traveling the world.  He visited every corner of the globe, ultimately touring 53 countries on six continents.  In addition, he enjoyed reading, mastering the tax code, and could be found at the YMCA multiple days a week.  Our family could not have asked for a more supportive husband, father, or grandfather.  Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home; Circleville with a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Community United Methodist Church.  Memorials may be made to the Circleville Community United Methodist Church Endowment Reined Earnings Fund or the Mid-Ohio Food Bank www.midohiofoodbank.org
