Biography

Janet E. Hooks, 83, of South Bloomfield, died October 31, 2010 at Brown Memorial Nursing Home, Circleville. She was born December 29, 1926 in Atlanta, OH, the daughter of Leroy and Helen (Stonerock) Funk. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She was a Girl Scout leader. She loved her family dearly, enjoyed gardening, cooking and OSU football. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray A. Hooks and brothers, Francis Funk and Eugene Funk. She is survived by her children, Richard Allen Hooks of South Bloomfield, Jack R. (Yvonne) Hooks of Circleville and Patty Jane Kuun of South Bloomfield; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Ingram and Doris E. (Howard) Russell and brother, Dale Leroy (Myrtle) Funk. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday November 4, 2010 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery in Williamsport. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to Brown Memorial Nursing Home, Circleville or The American Cancer Society.
