Peggy (Alderman) Lee

Peggy Lorretta (Alderman) Lee was born at home on August 9, 1942 in Circleville, to Clarice Josephine (Cupp) Alderman, of Circleville, Ohio and William Garner Alderman, of Galax, Virginia.  Peggy was preceded in death by both parents as well as her siblings:  Janet Forman, Elvis Alderman, Sonia McManes, William Alderman, and Joseph Alderman.  Peggy is survived by sister Mary Alderman.  Peggy is also survived by her husband, James; children Mike and Jamie, and grandchildren: Angela Renee Lee, Jessica Rowan (Cutshall) Willis, Amanda Marie Lee, Jeremy Seth Cutshall, and Atticus Ryan Lee.  She is a great grandmother to: Destiny, Colton, Trenton, Alek, Anselm, Anthony, Asher, and Alistair.  She is also an aunt to over 40 nieces and nephews.  She attended Circleville City Schools growing up and graduated from Circleville High School in 1962.  Peggy went on to earn her managing Cosmetologist's License in 1963 from Capitol Beauty School in Columbus, Ohio.  She married James Richard Lee on February 13, 1965 at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Circleville, Ohio.  They became parents in 1967 with the birth of their son James Michael and welcomed their daughter, Jamie Michele three years later in 1970.  After the birth of her son, Peggy dedicated her life to her husband and raising her family.  When her children left home, Peggy went to work for the Circleville Herald as a proofreader until she was in her early 60's.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with burial to follow in Forest Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 10-12. Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
