Lester Oren “Mugsy” Johnson
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lester Oren “Mugsy” Johnson, 74, of Circleville who left us peacefully on April 15, 2024 was born in Columbus, Ohio, Mugsy was a cherished figure known for his warmth, humor, and loving nature. Mugsy spent his life dedicated to his family, filling each day with laughter and love. He was a beacon of guidance and support, not just to his family but to everyone who had the pleasure of
knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, survived by his sons, David (Linda) Johnson of Stoutsville, and Robert (Jodi) Johnson of Amanda, Grandchildren, Dr. Corey (Amber) Johnson, Makayla (Koty) Anderson, Sydney (Josh) Cook and Ella Johnson, his Sisters, Rilla (Harry) Greenlee, Helen (Selcie) Slone, Judy (Tom) Nash, Libby (Roy) Tackett and Dolly (Bob) Hakes, along with an extensive family of nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much! His spirit will live on through them, in stories shared and memories celebrated. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Cheryl; his parents, Walter, and Anna Johnson; brother Walter Junior, sister Rose (Bill) Baldwin, and his brother, David (Nan) Johnson. Mugsy’s profound connections with each of them were a testament to the depth of his kindness, compassion, and love. Mugsy loved John Wayne movies (Western and War) and frequently spoke of his time spent in the US Army where he served as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and collecting firearms, military memorabilia and loved music and dancing!! There will be a Celebration of Life at 4pm on July 6, 2024, at the Commercial Point Community Center.
